Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Driving while intoxicated:

• Michael Patterson, 20, was arrested at 1:37 a.m. Sunday near Marine Way for drunken driving. He was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

• Johnse Ostman, 30, was arrested at 4:59 a.m. Sunday near outbound Egan Drive and Mendenhall Loop Road for drunken driving. He was lodged at the state prison.


• A backpack containing a Walkman, running shoes and other miscellaneous items was reported stolen at 10:01 a.m. Saturday near Montgomery Street.

• A blue KHS mountain bike was reported stolen at 12:39 p.m. Saturday from F Street.

• Police arrested a man, 20, at 7:50 p.m. near Glacier Highway on theft of services charges. He was lodged at the state prison.

• A black leather wallet containing $250 was reported stolen at 12:54 p.m. Sunday from West Willoughby Avenue.

Vandalism and criminal mischief:

• A back windshield wiper was reported broken at 8:21 a.m. Saturday near Hospital Drive. The wiper was on a 1992 Jeep Cherokee and was broken off sometime between 7:30 a.m. and noon Thursday.

• A mailbox was reported knocked off its post at 8:05 a.m. Sunday near Pioneer Avenue.

• Several mailboxes were reported removed from their posts at 4:51 p.m. Sunday near Delta Drive.

Underage drinking:

• Police cited and released five 17-year-old girls for underage drinking at 9:43 p.m. Saturday near Glacier Avenue.

Vehicle accidents:

• Police cited a man, 57, for failure to yield following a two-vehicle accident at 12:05 p.m. Saturday near Teal Street and Alpine Street. A 1988 Chevy truck driven by the man struck a 1986 Ford, driven by a man, 44. The Ford sustained $1,000 in damage while the Chevy sustained $2,500 in damage.

Animal encounters:

• A bear was reported Saturday at 7:33 p.m. near Marine Way.

• Bears were reported Sunday at 11:20 p.m. near Egan Drive and Loop Road, 11:52 p.m. near Mendenhall Mall Road, 2:44 p.m. near Glacier Highway and Northwood Drive, 3:19 p.m. near Glacier Highway in Lemon Creek, 4:25 p.m. near Stephen Richards Memorial Drive.

• Bears were reported today at 12:09 a.m. near Main Street and 3:13 a.m. near Meadow Lane.


• A man, 49, was arrested for violating a domestic violence protection order at 2:15 p.m. Sunday near South Franklin Street. Police believe alcohol was a factor in this incident. He was lodged at the state prison.
