Arts council requests artwork proposals for Bethel Readiness Center by Nov. 30

The Alaska State Council on the Arts, on behalf of the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, is requesting qualifications from artists for interior artwork to be commissioned for a new Alaska Army National Guard Readiness Center located in Bethel. This request for proposals is open to all Alaska artists and teams of artists.

The budget for this project is $40,000.

Application letters, resumes and images will be accepted online only through CaFÉ at: on or before 9:30 p.m. on November 30, 2010.

Proposal sketches must be mailed or delivered and received in the ASCA office during business hours on or before 4:30 p.m. November 30, 2010. This is a received not a postmarked deadline.

The mission of the Alaska State Council on the Arts (ASCA) is to foster the development of the arts for all Alaskans through education, partnership, grants and services. ASCA is a division of the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development, and is governed by 11 council members appointed by the governor. It is supported with general funds appropriated by the Alaska State Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts, with additional support for arts education programs from the Rasmuson Foundation.
