Winnifred E. Klinkhammer
Winnifred E. "Fritz" Klinkhammer, 96, died Oct. 8, 2002, at her home in Lynden, Wash.
She was born in Downer's Grove, Ill., to George and Pearl (Ary) Barr on Sept. 1, 1906. She married Walter C. Klinkhammer on Sept. 11, 1928.
They lived in Turtle Lake, Wis., and Hopkins, Minn., and moved to Juneau in 1945 where they ran a business, MT Juneau Sales and Service, until retiring in 1969. They then lived briefly in Ladysmith, B.C., and moved to Lynden in 1972.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, in 1982.
She is survived by her son Virgil and his wife Barbara of Bellingham, Wash.; grandchildren Roxanne Pierce, Eric Klinkhammer and Kristopher Klinkhammer, all of Bellingham; great grandchildren Shaune and Travis Pierce, also of Bellingham; sister Harriet Tarman of Turtle Lake, Wis.; and numerous relatives in Washington, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
A private family service will be held at Greenacres Cemetery in Bellingham.
The family invites friends to a reception in Winnifred's memory on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 1-3 p.m., at her home at 525 N. 14th St. in Lynden.
