Indictments:
Eric J. Pokorny, 20, was indicted by a grand jury on felony charges of third-degree assault and third-degree criminal mischief, stemming from allegations that he placed another man in fear of imminent injury with a dangerous instrument and did more than $500 damage to his vehicle on Oct. 6.
Shane W. Sewell, 30, was indicted by a grand jury on a felony charge of second-degree theft, stemming from allegations that he obtained between $500 and $25,00 in property from a local coffee seller between May 1 and May 14.
Cherryl L. Abraham, 29, was indicted by a grand jury on a felony charge of second-degree theft, stemming from allegations that she obtained between $500 and $25,000 in property from a local department store on Sept. 17.
Reuben S. Russell, 47, was indicted by a grand jury on two felony counts of second-degree forgery and a felony charge of failing to stop at the direction of a police officer, stemming from alleged actions of Sept. 29, when he is accused of forging two checks on another man's account.
Bobby Boorman, 19, was indicted by a grand jury on a felony charge of first-degree failing to stop at the direction of a police officer and a misdemeanor charge of driving without a valid license, stemming from a Sept. 19 incident.
Juanita J. Webber, 43, was indicted by a grand jury on a felony charge of fourth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, stemming from alleged possession of cocaine on Aug. 14, and a misdemeanor charge of sixth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, involving alleged possession of marijuana on the same day.
Tyler S. Reid, 24, was indicted by a grand jury on two felony counts of third-degree assault and a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of alcohol, stemming from a July 4 incident.
Mark D. Wendling, 39, was indicted by a grand jury on felony charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and refusing to submit to a chemical test, as well as a misdemeanor charge of driving while his license was suspended, canceled or revoked, stemming from an Aug. 21 incident, and a felony charge of driving under the influence of alcohol and a misdemeanor count of driving with his license suspended, canceled or revoked, stemming from an Oct. 2 incident.
Judgments:
Shaun Johnson, 22, was found guilty of second-degree theft, stemming from a Dec. 11, 2003, incident. Juneau Superior Court Judge Patricia Collins imposed 18 months in jail with 14 months suspended and placed Johnson on probation for two years.
Leonard Schenck, 28, was found guilty of second-degree forger, stemming from a July 28 incident. Collins imposed 18 months in jail with 12 months suspended and ordered him to share in a $1,270.43 restitution judgment with co-defendant Bertha Bray, previously sentenced on a charge of second-degree forgery. Collins also placed Schenck on probation for three years and ordered him to perform 160 hours of community service.
Janelle E. Schmidt, 23, was found guilty of misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, stemming from an Oct. 10 incident. Juneau District Court Judge Peter B. Froehlich imposed 33 days in jail with 30 days suspended and a $1,500 fine. Froehlich also revoked Schmidt's driver's license for 90 days and placed her on probation for two years.
John A. Paul, 29, was found guilty of misdemeanor assault, stemming from an Aug. 25 incident. Juneau District Magistrate John W. Sivertsen Jr. imposed 60 days in jail with 50 days suspended and a suspended $1,000. He also placed Paul on probation for two years. Paul also was found guilty of three counts of probation violation. Sivertsen imposed 50 days in jail with 40 days suspended, 50 days with 47 days suspended and 40 days with 39 suspended. He also ordered two years on probation for each offense and suspended fines of $250, $500 and $400.
Jack C. Tullis, 43, was found guilty of misdemeanor assault, stemming from a Sept. 5 incident. Sivertsen imposed 120 days in jail with 75 days suspended and a $1,000 fine with $500 suspended. He also placed Tullis on probation for three years. Tullis also was found guilty of a domestic-violence violation, violating a protective order, violating conditions of pretrial release and a probation violation. For the domestic violence violation, Sivertsen imposed 20 days in jail. For violating a protective order, he imposed 10 days. For violating conditions of release, he imposed 10 days. For the probation violation, Sivertsen imposed 52 days in jail with 47 days suspended, a suspended $250 fine and a year on probation.
Ordie A. Coney, 57, was found guilty of misdemeanor assault, stemming from an Aug. 30 incident. Sivertsen imposed 180 days in jail with 130 days suspended and a $500 fine with $250 suspended. He also placed Coney on probation for two years. Coney also was found guilty of criminal mischief, stemming from a July 6 incident. Sivertsen imposed 40 days in jail with 10 days suspended and a $500 fine with $250 suspended and two years on probation. Prosecutors dismissed additional misdemeanor counts alleging assault, harassment, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and violating conditions of release.
Vicky K. Adams, 47, was found guilty of disorderly conduct, stemming from an Oct. 1 from which she originally was charged with misdemeanor assault. Sivertsen imposed 30 days in jail, all suspended, and a $500 fine with $250 suspended. He also placed Adams on probation for one year with a condition she perform 40 hours of community service.
Nicole R. Flake, 31, was found guilty of misdemeanor assault, stemming from an Aug. 22 incident. Sivertsen imposed 60 days in jail, all suspended, and a suspended $500 fine. He also placed flake on probation for two years.
Nathan D. Solano, 25, was found guilty of criminal mischief and criminal trespass, stemming from an Aug. 1 incident. Sivertsen imposed 90 days in jail with 75 days suspended and a suspended $500 fine on the criminal mischief charge and an additional 90 days with 75 days suspended and suspended $500 fine on the trespass charge. For each count, Sivertsen placed Solano on probation for one year.
Frank C. White Jr., 42, was found guilty in Hoonah District Court of first-degree criminal trespass, stemming from a Sept. 15 incident. Magistrate Joyce Skaflestad imposed 30 days in jail.
