This Friday's Evening at Egan lecture will be led by Dr. David Gallo, director of special projects at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. The lecture will begin at 7 p.m. at the Egan Library, on the University of Alaska Southeast campus.
The lecture, "Origins, Evolution, and Destiny: Clues from the Deepest Sea" will focus on how new undersea technologies have allowed us new explorations of the underwater world.
"Like detectives we are on the trail of some of the greatest mysteries of all time and for the first time we are beginning to understand the intimate relationship between humanity and the sea," Gallo said.
The lecture is free.
