ANCHORAGE - Filming of the Drew Barrymore movie, "Everybody Loves Whales," is moving to downtown Anchorage.
Paperwork filed by film-makers shows movie crews on Thursday are to film scenes of a press conference outside the 4th Avenue Theatre. Scenes also will be filmed at the Hotel Captain Cook.
A spokesman for the movie says actor Stephen Root plays a fictional Alaska governor named "Haskell" who will tell reporters at the theater that he is doing his best on the whale rescue.
The movie is a fictional retelling of the attempt to rescue California gray whales trapped under the ice near Barrow in October 1988.
Filming is scheduled to end Nov. 21.
