I'd like to know why Sen. Stevens is forcing the Coast Guard to give away not only the Point Retreat lighthouse to the Alaska Lighthouse Association, but also 1,500 acres of federal land within the Tongass National Forest. What is the association going to do with 2 1/2 square miles of Admiralty Island? Anyone concerned about this should call the senator's office.

The hemp seed has more amino acids than the soy bean and is second only in protein to the soy bean and the hemp seed oil can be converted to diesel fuel.

I am an employee of the Auke Bay lab and I apologize for my co-worker's Word of Mouth comment on Sunday. The Auke Bay lab and the Alaska Region downtown are all of one piece - fisheries, science and management in Alaska.

Just because teenagers are walking around with their friends and skateboards and drinking and using drugs at the skate park doesn't mean they are doing anything wrong, right? I think the park should be closed until it can be managed properly. At best it's a big joke right now.
