I read with interest the story about increasing the cost to ride the ferry system, and wonder what input there is from those towns not on the "tourist" runs.
Sound off on the important issues at
Ketchikan, Wrangell, Juneau, Haines and Skagway profit greatly from the ferry system in the summer months. What about towns such as Hoonah, Tenakee Springs, Angoon, Kake and Pelican that rely on the ferry system to get to Juneau or Sitka for medical reason or just to shop?
I don't remember the ferry system being setup for the tourist industry, but for a way to get around Southeast Alaska.
