Police and Fire

Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Animal encounters:

• Bears were reported Wednesday at 11:20 a.m. and 12:06 p.m. and today at 3:49 a.m. near Glacier Highway in Lemon Creek.

Vehicle accident:

• At 4:40 p.m. Wednesday on the Douglas Bridge a 1985 Honda driven by a woman, 42, lost a tire, causing the vehicle to roll into a 1991 Ford Escort driven by a man, 40, and then strike a 1996 Saturn driven by a woman, 27. No one was injured. The Honda was towed.


• Police cited a man, 20, for misdemeanor misconduct involving weapons at 1:59 a.m. today near 18.5 mile Glacier Highway. Police responded because of a report of shots being fired. No one was injured, and the man was released.
