Helping Hands volunteers would like to thank United Way of Southeast Alaska for organizing the Day of Caring held on Oct. 2 and 4. We appreciated the food drives that were collected by the Bartlett staff, sisters and elders, University of Alaska Southeast and the Mendenhall Auto Center for allowing us to use their van.
We want to thank John Grummett, of Shattuck & Grummett Insurance, for purchasing the tires for our van.
Helping Hands will hold a Halloween Carnival on Oct. 25 at the Switzer Village Rec Hall, 6590 Glacier Highway. There will be two different age groups. From 2 to 5 p.m. will be for 10 years and younger, and 5:30-8 p.m. will be for 11- to 15-year-olds. There will be a $5 admission, and you'll receive eight game tickets to play for some good prizes. Food will be served for an extra charge.
We also would like to thank the community for its continued support.
