Today was the sad memorial day for the dead from the U.S. Navy ship. How dare we not feel honor in placing our hand over our heart and saying the Pledge of Allegiance to flag of the United States of America, for which these young people gave their lives protecting us?

To the caller worried that Juneau has been subject to prejudice because everyone else in the nation has a road and we don't, I was wondering if this proud conspiracy theory could give me directions to Bethel, Unalaska, Dillingham, Cordova, Kodiak, Wrangell or Sitka, etc.

If your teenagers or children play or hang out at Glacier Valley Elementary School, ask them if they saw or if they were involved with the planters across the street being kicked over and destroyed.

Isn't it unusual that we have two state holidays celebrating our purchase from the Russians and no state holiday celebrating becoming a state?

I wonder what the drivers of Juneau think about the 55 mph speed signs that are posted all around the highway. Nobody goes under 65 mph.

Let's change the voting age to 20. Teenagers don't vote anyway.

I just wanted our good ol' dog Bandit to have some recognition. He's old and he treed three bears. Just to let everyone know, afterward, they got down safely and found a way out of here.

People are in the hospital everyday for alcohol poisoning. Have you ever heard of an overdose on marijuana? Alcohol is far more dangerous than marijuana. Vote yes on measure five.
