Community performance of 'Messiah'

Rehearsals for Juneau Lyric Opera's performance of Handel's "Messiah" start tonight in the Juneau-Douglas High School band room. Performances will be Dec.14, 15 and 16 at Chapel by the Lake.
Randy Burton, who is organizing the event for JLO, said anyone who is interested in singing is welcome.
"All they have to do is show up. Whether they have sung it lots of times before, or never, anyone and everyone is welcome," Burton said.
Rehearsals will be held every Monday and Thursday evening beginning at 7:00 p.m. Susan Horst will conduct.
Singers interested in participating can call 789-4604 for more information or visit www.juneau.com/opera. There is a $40 fee, and anyone who has participated before and has a score should bring the music.
