Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Theft:

• Police arrested 30-year-old John Vaughan on a felony second-degree theft charge at 3:58 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of Front Street downtown. Police allege that Vaughan shoplifted two bottles of alcohol. They lodged him at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

• A damaged newspaper dispenser box that had been reported stolen was located at 9:13 p.m. Sunday near the end of Montana Creek Road in the Mendenhall Valley.

• A shoulder bag containing a cellular telephone and paperwork was reported stolen at 9:17 p.m. Sunday from an unlocked vehicle in the 600 block of West Willoughby Avenue downtown.

• A case holding compact discs was reported stolen at 12:43 a.m. Monday from a 1992 Civic in the 2200 block of Trout Street near the airport.

Trespassing:

• Police arrested a 48-year-old man on a charge of trespassing at 11:07 p.m. Sunday in the 2500 block of Industrial Boulevard. They lodged him at the state prison.

Vehicle accident:

• A 46-year-old man was evaluated for minor injuries at the scene of an accident at 5:47 a.m. Monday on outbound Egan Drive approaching Channel Drive. The 2003 Toyota Tacoma he was in, driven by a 46-year-old man, was reportedly totaled after it slid onto its side due to icy conditions.

Other:

• Capital City Fire and Rescue crews and volunteers brought a man down from the Dan Moller Trail on Douglas Island after he was reported to be experiencing heart problems Sunday night. The man, who was reported to be slipping in and out of consciousness, was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel and taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital.
