Cowboys nip Seahawks for Cub Division crown

Red Raiders win and advance to Senior Division title game

The Cowboys won the Juneau Youth Football League's Cub Division championship on Saturday by blanking the Seahawks 6-0 in a defensive struggle at Adair-Kennedy Memorial Park.

Kris Hill scored the game's lone touchdown in the second quarter on a 10-yard run.


Wildcats 20, Titans 0

The Wildcats shutout the Titans to seal third place in the Cub Division.

Demetrius Campos opened the game's scoring by hauling in a 47-yard touchdown pass from Austin Thomas in the first quarter.

Doug Lail added a 2-yard TD run and Kaelin Dietrick added a touchdown on a 20-yard scamper for the Wildcats.

Also in the win, Jacob Moser and Colin Ludeman had one-point conversion runs.


Huskies 32, Warriors 6

The Huskies' Alex Matheson rushed for three touchdowns in the second half to lead his team past the Warriors.

Matheson had TD runs of 42, 66 and 88 yards in the win.

Daniel Nore found the end zone on a 24-yard run and Matt Vandor scored on a 2-yard plunge for the Huskies. Vandor and Zac Vollmer added one-point runs in the win.

Tony Yadao contributed the Warriors' only TD with a 38-yard run in the third quarter


Red Raiders 26, Hurricanes 0

The Red Raiders advanced to the Senior Division championship game with a victory over the Hurricanes.

Steven Costello and Ben Hotch rushed for two touchdowns each in the win. Costello had TD runs of 51 and 34 yards while Hotch punched it in from one and 32 yards.

Tyler Leatham chipped in a one-point conversion for the Red Raiders.

Cougars 32, Sitka 0

The Cougars scored from both sides of the line of scrimmage in a shutout victory over the Sitka Storm.

John Gregory recovered a fumble in the end zone to provide a defensive touchdown for the Cougars.

Mathew Maka had TD runs of three and 25 yards, Chris Hoffman rushed in from eight yards out and Leka Maka iced the win with a 19-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.

Chris Holloway completed one-point conversion passes to Hoffman and Randy Segelhorst in the win.
