AWARE would like to thank three hard-working organizations that recently helped us with an enormous project. Glacier Valley Rotary, the Mendenhall Flying Lions and Southeast Alaska Guidance Association (SAGA) were all instrumental in AWARE's ability to transform our eight worse-for-wear bedrooms into something beautiful and home-like.
Glacier Valley Rotary and SAGA hauled out all the old bunk beds and dressers. Our old furniture provided many safe nights of sleep to thousands of women and children over the last 15 years. After removing the old, these wonderful men and women carried in and installed new bunk beds and dressers. The families in shelter raved about the new furniture and said they had never slept so sound.
The Mendenhall Flying Lions helped us clean up by making dump runs of broken down furniture and trash. Their willingness to help us out in a moment's notice was greatly appreciated.
On behalf of the women and children we serve, AWARE would like to thank the generosity of Glacier Valley Rotary, the Mendenhall Flying Lions and SAGA.
