Here's a warning to everyone who loves to climb the rocks near the waterfall at the Mendenhall Glacier. Sunday there was a new rock slide with boulders as big as cars right near the waterfall. And Monday, on top of that rock slide there are now boulders as big as small buses. These may look interesting to climb, but be forewarned, it looks as though there are more rocks ready to tumble down the mountain onto the rocks below.

Now that the visitors staff is only there from Thursday through Sunday, we have to look out for each other. Please stay far away from the rocks to the right of Nugget Falls. With freezing and thawing this time of year, no area near the rock slides is safe to climb.
