ANCHORAGE - A subsidiary of Cook Inlet Region Inc. may buy the old Fireweed Theater site in Anchorage late this month.
The Anchorage Daily News Reports CIRI Land Development Co. is in talks to buy the site from Regal Cinemas.
The proposal was reported in the corporation's latest shareholder newsletter.
The newsletter says potential projects could include mixed-use office and retail elements and that development could begin as early as next year.
CIRI Land Development's other projects include the Tikahtnu Commons mall in east Anchorage and a 40,000-square-foot office building in South Anchorage.
CIRI is the Alaska Native corporation for the Anchorage region.
