Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:


Half an hour after midnight Thursday, police arrested a woman, 42, at the Penthouse Lounge for assault. She was transported to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center. Alcohol was involved in the incident.


Shortly before 10 p.m., police received a report of a theft of a cassette recorder from an apartment house on Cinema Drive.

About 5:30 a.m. today, a man, 37, reported the theft of his black 1997 Ford F-150 pickup truck which had been left unlocked at the Juneau Airport with the keys inside.

Warrant arrests:

About 12:19 p.m. Thursday, a man, 40, was arrested at the Mendenhall Valley skate park on a $1,000 outstanding Alaska State Troopers warrant for failure to appear for a pretrial hearing and for drunken driving and driving without a valid license. He was lodged at state prison.

About 8:30 p.m. Thursday, a man, 24, was arrested downtown on an outstanding Juneau Police Department warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of domestic violence assault. He was transported to and lodged at state prison.

Shortly before midnight Thursday, a man, 30, a prisoner at state prison, was served an outstanding Oregon warrant. The original offense was "dangerous drugs."

Traffic stops:

Shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday, a girl, 16, was cited in Cope Park for driving without a license and operating a vehicle with expired vehicle tags. The vehicle was impounded.

Animal encounters:

About 10 p.m. Thursday, police received a report of a black bear in the area of Taku Boulevard. The bear was not being aggressive.

About 2 a.m. today, police received a report of a bear on Pine Street in the Lemon Creek area.

About 3:30 a.m. today, police received a report of a bear on Pine Street getting into garbage left out overnight to be picked up in the morning.
