Whitehorse flights a waste of money

Posted: Tuesday, October 20, 2009

Let me get this straight -city and borough has so much money that they are willing to pay Canadian Airlines $26,400 for three flights to "see" if they can promote business between Whitehorse and Juneau?

I didn't know Juneau had that kind of money to waste. Juneau used to have regular flights to Whitehorse, but no longer do because people weren't interested in flying there on a regular basis. If they were, the flights would still be operating.

Why would Mayor Bruce Botelho and Juneau Assembly members think that this is a good idea? We have plenty of worthwhile things that need to be done in our community without wasteful spending like this. This is a totally inappropriate use of taxpayer dollars.
