JUNEAU - Alaska Senate GOP hopeful Joe Miller says his campaign isn't worried about having a team to monitor the counting of write-in votes.
Miller believes he can garner a big enough share of the vote that he won't have to worry about write-in ballots for Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski. If it's a tighter race, though, he says has confidence in election officials to do their job properly.
Democrat Scott McAdams is also a factor.
For write-ins to be counted, the total of all write-in votes cast in the race must either represent the most votes received by any candidate in the race or represent the second highest total, with the difference between the number of write-in votes and the highest votes received by a candidate at less than 0.5 percent.
