HAINES - A man from Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, was found dead over the weekend in the Chilkoot River near Haines.

Erich Tyner, 71, was found dead shortly before 9 a.m. Sunday by a fisherman. Investigators say Tyner drowned and no foul play is suspected. Water levels on the Chilkoot River have risen recently and currents are stronger, due to heavy rainfall. Troopers warned those fishing in the Chilkoot should be aware of the dangers caused by the increased water flow.
