Seth Cayce of Juneau's Glacier Swim Club won 10 of the 11 events he entered, and teammate Lindsay Clark won nine of her 11 races at last weekend's October Splash meet at Augustus Brown pool.
Cayce, 12, won age-division titles in the 100 and 200-yard butterfly, 50, 100 and 200-yard breaststroke, 50 and 100-yard backstroke, 100 and 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard individual medley, and finished second in his other event - the 50 fly.
Clark, also 12, posted age-division wins in the 100, 200 and 500-yard freestyle, 50 and 100-yard breaststroke, 100 butterfly, 100 and 200-yard backstroke and 100-yard individual medley. She finished second in her other two events - the 50 free and 50 fly.
Cayce and Clark were two of a number of multiple-event winners for GSC at the meet, held Friday through Sunday. It was the first competition of the season for the club and the first meet ever for many of its swimmers. Swimmers from Haines, Sitka, Petersburg, Ketchikan and Craig also participated.
New GSC coach Scott Griffith reported that 78 percent of the team's times were personal bests, and many GSC swimmers qualified for December's Alaska State Age Group Championships and February's Southeast Championships.
