Former Juneau resident Doug Rodgers, 56, of Meridian, Idaho, died Oct. 16, 2005, in Meridian, after a several-year battle with cancer.
He was born June 20, 1949, in Ellensburg, Wash. He served in the Navy in the Vietnam War. In 1987, he and his family moved to Juneau, where they lived for 12 years. He worked for United Parcel Service. Upon leaving Alaska, he and his wife spent a few years in Delaware, Ohio, before settling in Boise, Idaho.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing. His friends and family say he was "generous, kind and sincere."
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Linda; three daughters, Jennifer, B.J. and Hollie, and their husbands; and grandchildren, Henry and Alexandria.
Donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 2676 S. Vista Ave., Boise, Idaho, 83705. A private inurnment will be at a later date at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise.
