Juneau-Douglas High School volleyball - The Crimson Bears will look to seal a top seed in the Southeast Conference as they host Ketchikan for two matches on Friday and Saturday at the JDHS gym. The junior varsity and C teams will also take the court. Times TBA.

Basketball scorekeepers needed - Juneau Parks and Recreation is looking for adult basketball scorekeepers for the 2007-08 Ordway basketball season. The season will run from Nov. 11 to the second week of February. Info: Parks and Recreation, 586-5226.
Women's Classic Basketball League - A legue for women who want to play for fun, on an organized team, who may be new to the game or have less time due to kids and other committments are encouraged to play in the Women's Classic Basketball League. Aggressive play is strongly discouraged in the Classic league.
Juneau-Douglas Officials Association Basketball Officials meetings - Meetings will take place Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Room C109 at Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School through Nov. 7. There will be no meeting on Oct. 31. Interested basketball referees for the Adult Ordway City League or high school officiating should attend every Wednesday. Ordway League begins Nov. 11. Juneau Soccer Club registration - Registration for the 2007-2008 Juneau Soccer Club season is underway. The new season officially begins Oct. 1. Youth of all skill levels are invited to develop their soccer skills and love of the game through JSC training programs and competition. JSC provides youth grades 4-12 with year-round developmental and competitive game opportunity. The programs are designed for same-grade, same-gender youth groups. Treadwell Arena is open - Treadwell Arena is open seven days a week. Open skate, stick 'n puck and pond hockey sessions are available throughout the week. Juneau Douglas Ice Association youth hockey registration - The Juneau Douglas Ice Association youth hockey program is currently accepting registration for the upcoming season. To register, go to www.usahockey.com/juneaudouglasice to print the registration forms. You may mail them to to the address on the form. The JDIA is also accepting credit card payments at Play It Again Sports. There will be an additional late fee for registrations filed after Sept. 19.
Mt. Jumbo Preschool open gym - Open gym will be held for youth up to age 6 with an adult. Cost is $1 per child and punchcards are available at the gym. HoopTime youth basketball volunteers needed - HoopTime is recruiting for volunteers in all aspects of its program, including board members, coaches and coaches representatives. Dzantik'i Heeni open gym - Community Schools in cooperation with the PEP grant is sponsoring open gyms at Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School on Saturdays from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. for youth in grades 6-12. Basketball/volleyball court rentals available - The Juneau Community Schools program has basketball/volleyball court rental times available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays at Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School.
