Shotgun accidentally fires, hitting girl

CHEVAK - An 11-year-old Chevak girl was flown to Anchorage for treatment of a gunshot wound to the head.

Alaska State Troopers say that 49-year-old Morris Aguchak was unloading a shotgun Sunday when it fired and struck the girl.

Troopers in Bethel responded.

Chevak is a village of 942 about 140 miles northwest of Bethel.
