Every vote counts

Posted: Tuesday, October 22, 2002

I've been wearing a "Fran Ulmer for Governor" button since early spring, and I've heard many different and interesting responses. One thing I hear often is, "Oh, it would be great if she won, but it will never happen. Frank Murkowski has too much support." I would like to repeat publicly what I say to those people:

If you think Fran Ulmer would be a good governor, vote. Vote even if you think she hasn't got a chance, although she has at least an even chance of winning; polls have the race in a dead heat. Vote as though the future of Alaska depended on your choice. It does. With the race this close, your vote could be the very one that wins the election for Fran.
