Dress rehearsal

Posted: Sunday, October 22, 2006

The saying, "Practice makes perfect," rings true in several aspects of life - especially interviewing for a job. If you're new to the interview process, it's wise to do a dry run before the big day. Mike Cubbin, dean of career services and student affairs at DeVry University in Florida, suggests developing a concise, 30- to 60-second description of yourself. "Very often the first question an interviewer will ask is, 'Tell me about yourself,'" he says. "Being able to present yourself in a clear and succinct way will also be helpful in networking situations."
