JUNEAU - A hearing is set for Saturday on whether the public should have greater access to employment information from Senate candidate Joe Miller's time as a government attorney.
Several news organizations have sued for the information, and retired Judge Winston Burbank is being asked to weigh in whether the public interest in the file outweighs Miller's right to privacy.
Attorney Chris Zimmerman expects Burbank to issue a speedy decision to allow for a possible appeal before the Nov. 2 election.
Burbank is hearing the case in Fairbanks after other judges recused themselves or were disqualified.
Miller's attorney didn't return messages seeking comment.
Miller recently acknowledged he was disciplined for violating the ethics policy while working for the Fairbanks North Star Borough but said it was unrelated to his departure or the race.
