Police and Fire

Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Thefts:

* A man, 65, reported at 11:30 p.m. Monday from Juneau Airport that his vehicle had been stolen. The vehicle was later recovered with no suspects in the area.

Vehicle accidents:

* Police cited a girl, 17, for failure to yield after stopping and for driving without a valid license following a two-vehicle accident at 3:18 p.m. Monday near Loop Road and Kimberly Road. The boy driving a Chevy Celebrity struck a Chevy Suburban driven by a woman, 45. The Suburban sustained $1,500 in damage and the Celebrity driven by the girl sustained $800 in damage. There were no injuries.

Animal encounters:

* Bears were reported Monday at 7:39 p.m. near Switzer Village mobile home park and today at 2:14 a.m. near Renninger Street.

Other:

* A man, 31, was cited for driving without a valid license at 5:23 p.m. Monday near Thane Road and Mill Street. He was released and his motorcycle was left legally parked.

* Franklin Hotch, 30, was arrested at 1:58 p.m. Monday near Douglas Highway for violating the conditions of his release. He was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
