Demonstrated success

Posted: Wednesday, October 23, 2002

I am a recent graduate of UAS-Juneau. I advocated with my fellow students to get full funding for the University of Alaska. I want to thank Sen. Kim Elton for his role in securing money for the University. That funding has resulted in meeting the needs of Juneau students with more academic programs, a mental health counselor (we had none until this year), new classrooms via the library addition (we attend most classes in renovated trailers), and a recreation center.

These projects help increase enrollment. Increased enrollment means more money into Juneau and more trained teachers and nurses for Alaska. Sen. Kim Elton's votes in support of all levels of education, especially the University, show me that he is committed to education and its investment in the long-term future of Alaska.

Why stop now when we're on a roll? If education is one of your top priorities, I hope you'll join me in voting for Kim Elton, a demonstrated success.
