A famous analogy

Posted: Wednesday, October 23, 2002

I read Gregg Erickson's letter defending Sen. Elton and attacking Republicans with utter amazement at his disregard for the truth.

Blocked then blamed

In his defense of Sen. Elton, he said that Sen. Adams had been denied a seat on the Senate Finance Committee two years earlier. If he checked the Senate Journal, Jan. 19, 1999, page 10, he would see that Sen. Adams was appointed to the Senate Finance Committee. If he had paid attention for two years he would have noticed that Sen. Adams served on the Finance Committee during the 21st Legislature (1999-2000).

To borrow a famous analogy, I know Sen. Adams, and Sen. Elton is no Sen. Adams. Unlike Sen. Elton, Sen. Adams did not lose a seat on the Finance Committee.
