Aleut/Alutiiq artist Peter Lind, right, of Homer, picks out a piece of ivory Thursday during a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service ivory sale at the Alaska Native Arts & Craft Fair in Fairbanks. There were 86 pieces of ivory to choose from, most confiscated by law enforcement and available for purchase only by Alaska Natives. The fair coincides with the annual Alaska Federation of Natives Convention.
