Four Juneau football players to take part in annual Shrine Game

Four Juneau-Douglas High School seniors will be on the field for the 26th annual Al Aska Shrine Temple North-South Classic football game at 2 p.m. Saturday at Anchorage Football Stadium.

The Crimson Bears making the trip to Anchorage are kicker-defensive back Richard Isett, fullback-linebacker Ryan West, fullback-linebacker Nick West and offensive tackle-defensive end Jimmy Brown.

According to Al Aska Shrine Temple spokesman Rodney Young, the four players are being sponsored for a hotel room and meals to cut down their expenses to take part in the annual senior all-star game.

The state's top senior football players are honored each year during the game, which raises funds for Shriners' Hospitals for Children, a national charity that serves hundreds of Alaskans each year. The annual Shrine Classic has helped raise more than $100,000 over the past five years.
