Sports brief: Matt Metzger wins Humboldt Marathon

JUNEAU - Matt Metzger, a Juneau resident until this September, won the 28th annual Humboldt Redwoods Marathon on Oct. 15 in Humboldt, Calif., with a time of 2 hours and 41 minutes.

Metzger led a crew of Juneau runners who competed in the event. He currently resides in Belvedere Tiburon, Calif.
Paul Voelckers finished in 26th place with a time of 3:41 while Erika Bengston placed 81st overall in 4:23.
Juneau's Mary Pat Wyatt finished the half-marathon in 2:47.
