No to pesticide permit

My husband and sons commercial fish, and therefore depend on a healthy fish stock and healthy oceans. We consume fish three to four times weekly for health reasons and consider fish a healthy choice. Therefore, I am concerned about Klukwan Inc.'s permit application to Department of Environmental Conservation to spray pesticides to control salmonberry and red alder. I am glad to hear so many people speaking out against the permit.

I am concerned about the chemical drift that could contaminate our water and the ocean. I am concerned that the toxic chemicals would affect the reputation of our high-quality seafood.

This permit would harm far more people than it would help. I ask DEC to please reject Klukwan Inc.'s permit application because the risk to our health and natural resources would be too great.
