Posted: Friday, October 26, 2007

Age: 6.

Sound off on the important issues at

Grade: First.

School: Riverbend Elementary School.

Art of choice: Singing.

Reason: "I like singing, because it's fun, and I like making up songs."

Experience: Two years.

Favorites: "Lilly and Reed (her friends) are my favorite artisits. My favorite songs are 'My Donkey Derodoro' and the 'Hippopatamus Song.'"

Future plans: I want "to make more and more songs." I will "make new parts that are just made up than make it a big one (performance)."

Activites: "Soccer, swimming, jump rope and school!"

Wacky art: Wacky artists would "not sing and wiggle their tongues and not listen to the piece of music."

You should know: "My heros are Daddy and Mommy. They can do all the thinking, and I can do all the work. That's true!"

Her classroom teacher Tisa Becker says: "Morgan is a talented artist. Morgan is not only gifted in visual art, but she is a performer. She loves putting on classroom plays and participating in readers theater. Morgan's biggest passion is a love of music. She sings in the Juneau Youth Choir, with Missouri Smythe, and enjoys singing in our class using the song chart or singing to music shared by our music teacher Brian VanKirk. Morgan is creative and imaginative. Her attitude and outlook are both unique and reflective."
