Chaik and Killisnoo, the resident bears at the Fortress of the Bear in Sitka, check out a bucket this month, lowered from above, containing a live salmon. The orphaned cubs had never seen live fish, but quickly figured out what to do with the fish donated by a nearby hatchery. The Fortress of the Bear is a privately run bear habitat located inside a clarifier tank at the former Alaska Pulp Mill site.
