Cathy gets the vote

Letter to the Editor

When we compare the two candidates for our Senate seat, I can only support one candidate and that is Cathy Muñoz. She is not a one-issue candidate. I have known Cathy since she was in high school with our children and it is rewarding to see how she has grown into a responsible young women. Mr. Elton is a good person and I do not doubt his honesty. However, he is a candidate that is more interested in social programs than creating private-sector jobs that will stimulate our economy and put people to work in S.E. Alaska. Both candidates are strong on education, but Cathy is the one that wants to create jobs that will keep our youth in the state. Cathy will not only work with the majority, but she will work to create a coalition of S.E. legislators that will work for our entire region. She has pledged to sponsor legislation to change the initiative process allowing for signatures to be from a majority of Alaska's political districts. She will serve all her constituents not just those concerned with social programs. My vote goes to Cathy.
