Cody Brunette won eight of his 10 individual races, while Cassie Anderson went 7-for-10 in her events to lead the Glacier Swim Club during the October Splash meet held Oct. 10-12 at Sitka's Blatchley Swimming Pool.

No team scores or individual point leaders were kept for this meet, which also featured swimmers from the host Baranof Barracudas Swim Club, the Ketchikan Killer Whales and Petersburg's Viking Swim Club. The meet is used as a qualifier for the Southeast Championships, which take place in Juneau later this year.

Glacier Swim Club took 36 swimmers to the meet, with most of them elementary and middle school students. GSC coach Dave Maker said the swimmers had an overall best-time percentage of 82.6, meaning they posted personal records in roughly six out of every seven events.

"The number and size of the time drops were extraordinary," Maker said. "We had too many top swimmers to name."
