Senator should retire

Don Hoff Jr. was right on target when he suggested that Sen. Stevens make good on his threat to retire. Even in better fiscal times, the "bridge to nowhere" did not make good fiscal sense, and in the post-Katrina world, it makes even less sense. Rather than act like a petulant spoiled child who's used to getting his way, it would be pleasing to see an elected representative act like a leader by offering to put those funds towards reconstruction in areas where they are sorely needed.

How refreshing that would be, but I don't expect to see that kind of leadership from the Alaska delegation.
