Organization description: AWARE provides safe shelter, advocacy, education and support for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse, and community prevention and education on these issues.
Years of service: Over 25 years.
Volunteer positions available: AWARE seeks volunteers for: clerical work including answering phones and photocopying; working with kids at the shelter, including tutoring, crafts and supervision; and cooking meals and cleaning up afterwards. On-the-job training is provided.
Hours: AWARE is flexible and could use volunteers to donate as much or as little time as possible.
Special requirement: Background checks will be required for all volunteers.
