Angoon resident Henry George Andrew Howard died Oct. 16, 2008, in his home. He was 34.
Born Sept. 19, 1974, in Mt. Edgecumbe, to Mitchell and Evangeline (James) Howard, he attended school in Angoon. He married Cheryl Ann Jack in Angoon, and they later divorced.
According to his family, he loved his son and all his nieces and nephews. He took pride in helping raise them when needed, they said.
He also treasured his grandmother Maggie's recipes and used them with great pride, they added. Another pleasure was talking and text messaging on his cell phone to family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul and Maggie James, and Henry and Florence Howard.
He is survived by his parents; son, Aric Andrew Howard, of Angoon; sister, Michelle Jack, of Juneau; brother, M. Theodore Howard, of Angoon; nieces and nephews, Devonne Merculief, Demitri Merculief, Tyler Conley, Luke Jack, Angel Jack, Maggie James and twins, Mitchell and Helen Sachsenmaier; and grandparents, Isabel Chulik and Liz McCluskey.
