Juneau girl struck by van and injured

JUNEAU - An 11-year-old Juneau girl was hit by a van while crossing a street Sunday in the Mendenhall Valley, according to the Juneau police.

The girl suffered multiple injuries ranging from broken bones to cuts and bruises. She was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital by Capital City Fire and Rescue. She is listed in stable condition.

The police say a 24-year-old Utah resident driving a 2005 Chevrolet van was northbound on Mendenhall Loop Road near Nancy Street when the van struck the girl.

The police haven't issued citations and are continuing the investigation.
