Earthquake rattles southcentral Alaska

ANCHORAGE - A magnitude 4.4 earthquake shook up southcentral Alaska on Wednesday afternoon.

The West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Center says the quake occurred at 2:45 p.m. It was felt in Anchorage.

The epicenter was 40 miles southwest of Anchorage and 75 miles southwest of Palmer at a depth of 34 miles.

The center says a tsunami was not generated.
