Sound advice: Don't drink while pregnant

Posted: Sunday, October 29, 2006

With numerous opportunities for parties and festivities during the upcoming holiday season, I would like to remind women of the dangers of drinking alcohol during pregnancy. Fetal Alcohol Syndrome is 100 percent preventable when pregnant women, or women who are sexually active without effective birth control, do not drink alcohol. You may be under the impression that you have just recently become pregnant so a few sips of a delicious hard apple cider will do no damage, but no amount of alcohol is known to be safe during any time of pregnancy. Please be responsible and have a safe and happy holiday season.
