Yellow slips past Glacier Seafoods in JAHA
Gracy Treston's hat trick lifts his team to a Sunday win at Treadwell Arena
Gracy Treston kicked off the night's scoring for Tier-C Yellow on Sunday, then capped it with the team's final two goals to complete a hat trick and a 5-3 win over Glacier Seafoods in Juneau Adult Hockey League action at Treadwell Arena.
Treston added an assist to teammate Larry Johansen in the second period to round out the night.
Glacier Seafoods was led by Brent Clancy's own hat trick, aided by a pair of assists from teammate Bill Hill.
WOMEN'S TIER
Gray 1, Green 1
Janice McLean lifted Gray to an early lead off an assist from Pam Johansen with 9:39 left in the first period. Green's Val Martinez knotted the score up, though, just a minute into the second period with an assisted score.
Neither team was able to find the net again, as a hard-fought defensive battle ended in a tie.
Red 2, Orange 2
One good women's tie deserved another Sunday, as Orange stormed back from an early deficit with two goal in the third to fight to an even ending.
Marsha Squires kicked off Orange's late scoring off an assist from Tami Watts. Watts later tied the score with an unassisted shot.
Christy Baseden and Becca Parks both scored unassisted goals for Red in the second period.
MEN'S A TIER
Kensington 6, Green 1
The goals came early, late and from all angles for Kensington on Sunday, as four different players scored in the win.
Steve Box and Matt Foss scored two goals apiece to lead Kensington. Dennis Weston and Marty Husby both added a score to the effort.
MEN'S B TIER
Black 2, Bleu Chunks 1
Mason Morriss scored on an unassisted goal just seconds into the game to put Black on top and they never relinquished the lead.
Henry Wyatt added the second score of an assist fromMorriss in the third.
Dana Hanselman scored Bleu Chunks' only goal late in the third.
Yellow 4, Dk Miners 1
Mika Sommers scored a pair of goals and added an assist to pace Yellow's victory over Dk Miners.
Randy Gregg added a pair of assists and B.J. Wilson and Pete Sommers both added goals for Yellow.
Travis Wolfe scored the Miners' only goal with an unassisted effort in the opening period.
