The Trashin' Fashion Show, organized by Ali McKenna's Juneau-Douglas High School journalism class, is back for its third year. This year's event will take place beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at the Juneau Douglas High School auditorium.
Similar to the Wearable Art show, Trashin' Fashion involves the fabrication of original fashion, but in this case designers are limited in their materials to duct tape, trash bags and items found in their recycling bins.
Ten designers will model their creations for the audience, who will vote on the most elegant and the most creative designs. Winners receive one of two $50 gift certificates donated by Canton House and K Magic Productions.
Admission is $5, with proceeds going to support the Writing for Publication classes.
