Join SEACC to learn the 'dirty' facts about the Tongass

JUNEAU - Organizers at the Southeast Alaska Conservation Council are inviting the public to a Clean Water and Muddy Boots Field Trip from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 30.

SEACC's clean water and mining expert, Guy Archibald, will lead participants on a field trip to learn about the effects of pollution and disruption on salmon habitats in the Tongass National Forest. Subjects will include water quality and the biology of river ecosystems and salmon habitats.

Attendees should bring boots and rain gear, and prepare to get muddy. Group will meet at the gravel parking lot on Nancy Street, off Mendenhall Loop Road. There is no cost to attend. Reply by calling SEACC at 586-6942 or e-mail
