Earline Victoria Cooke
Former Juneau resident Earline Victoria Cooke died Oct. 25, 2000, in Georgia.
She was born March 3, 1948, in Atlanta, Ga., to Talmadge Cooke and Susan Martha Wilbanks Cooke. She was active as a singer and actress throughout her life. She studied theater and voice in New York and in her hometown of Buford, Ga., where she graduated from high school. She graduated from Georgia Southwestern College in Americus in 1971 with a degree in speech and drama.
She moved to Juneau in the early 1970s and did newspaper work. She returned to Georgia and earned a master's degree and taught school for several years before coming back to Juneau. She worked for the Department of Labor and was active in the Juneau-Douglas Little Theatre. She returned to Georgia in the 1980s.
Services were held Sunday in Buford.
