Photo fair scheduled
Students in grades K-8 can learn more about the art of photography from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2,during a Photo Fair.
Eight local photographers and museum volunteers will staff information centers and conduct demonstrations explaining many photographic techniques and processes. Students will be able to cast their images on a glow board, create digital images, make a cyanotype or "blueprint," look through different types of lenses and create a photo montage. Guest photographers are Ron Klein, Jeff Brown, Joe Sonneman, Shar Fox, Michael Penn, David Job and David Sheakley. Mini-presentations will occur throughout the fair.
The photo fair, hosted by the Friends of the Alaska State Museum in conjunction with the photo exhibition Alaska Positive 2002, is free and open to the public. This program is funded by the City and Borough of Juneau-Douglas through sales tax revenue. For more information about the event, call 465-2901.
